Cattle Country Indian Summer

Cattle Country Indian Summer

A wise woman once made evident to me what an Indian Summer was.

Generally, in late fall or early winter, there will be a short time when the weather warm back up a bit due to a warm breeze out of the south. This time many years ago was used to gather & trade with others to prepare for the winter ahead. One last warm '"hoorah!" before cozying in to endure the cold for a few long & dark months ahead.

This spurred me to take extra time to prepare for winter. This meant calling buddies to load up on wood, stocking up on square bales for sick cattle or to stall horses & even the donkeys, calling the barn builders to fix a door off the rail, stocking up on antibiotics, triple counting all my feed & forage for the winter, stock water heaters, & MANY other things.

This wise woman has taught me most of what I know & everything in between with a few exceptions. She did not teach me how to cuss, raise my voice, castrate a bull, pull a calf, read feed bunks, or smoke a brisket.

Take advantage of this Indian Summer & Stock Up on USA BEEF.
